Woodforde’s Brewery

Nelson’s Revenge (4.5% ABV, bottle)
Rich deep amber colour with a beige head that stays pretty well. Aroma: it’s all about bready, almost toasty malt, with a suggestion of beery fruit coming through. On the palate, it’s a very full malt taste, slightly nutty, with a good body. There are lemon pith notes from the hops, but again a berry flavour that develops on the finish. A good, traditional best bitter, from a brewery with quite a bit of experience in the field. To be drunk by a roaring pub fire with a packet of beef crisps to hand… (02-01-2018)
