Irish Whiskey Finish (7.4% ABV, bottle)
Sometimes I drink a beer and, no matter how much I appreciate the skill that’s gone into it, I have to hold up my hands and say: “This is not for me.” This beer is such a brew.
The beer pours black with red tinges around the outside and a big, thick, foaming beige head that dissipates quite quickly. The aroma is of alcohol-soaked, dark dried fruit.
On the palate, there’s whisky-soaked raisins and sticky, caramelised dates. The beer lacks body and is quite thin in the glass.
