Greene King

Old Speckled Hen Low Alcohol (0.5% ABV)
Pours amber with an off-white head and looks pretty much like regular Old Speckled Hen. (Well, the normal 4.5% ABV Greene King version, rather than the wonderful original Morland version at 5.2%, which I loved back in the 90s.) The taste is described on the bottle as “abundance of malts and light toffee character”, but there’s actually a lot of toffee sweetness. So much, I don’t think I could drink two bottles. It’s not the worst low-alcohol bitter I’ve tried, but I won’t be rushing back. (05-01-2019)
