Dancing Duck Brewery

Dark Drake (4.5% ABV, bottle)
Pretty black, with just the faintest hint of red at the bottom, the beer has a beige head which dissipates quite quickly. It’s an oatmeal stout and on the palate you do get that sense of cereal in the body. There are hints of coffee bean and an almost cola-like sweetness. Chocolate comes through, too, notably on the nose. This is a multi-award-winning brew, with titles including CAMRA’s champion winter beer of 2015, and although I did enjoy it, I thought it was a little thin in body for a stout. (03-04-2016)
