Laura Bullard, of Suffolk Mind, accepts the money raised from the Christmas meals from Muntons’ HR advisor, Mary Narey
Rather than simply buying Christmas lunch in its canteen at the price charged by Churchill catering, which runs the canteen, Muntons paid for Christmas lunch, brunch and rolls for its shift workers and asked for a donation to be made to the mental health charity.
The Churchill staff ensured the three meals were perfect, with a ten-item Christmas brunch one day, a two-course meal the next, and turkey, stuffing and cranberry rolls for shift workers who were unable to make the daytime sittings.
Suffolk Mind has recently undertaken several training sessions at Muntons during the mental health wellbeing month, designed to raise awareness of mental health issues and to help staff to understand, appreciate and cope with the stresses that modern life can bring.
Mary Narey, HR advisor at Muntons, said: “The feedback we received from our staff following the Suffolk Mind mental health awareness sessions was exceptionally positive. The idea of raising money for Suffolk Mind was therefore an easy one to make, particularly in this innovative way.”
Laura Bullard, external relationships co-ordinator for Suffolk Mind, added: “We are extremely grateful for this generous donation. This money will go towards helping us to achieve our mission of making Suffolk the best place in the world for talking about and taking care of mental health.”
