Manchester beer venue Albert Schloss has seen great demand for its own pilsner, Manchester Rein, selling 100,000 pints since its launch in May.
Selling more than 3,000 pints a week, the beer will be the star of the show at the Albert Hall’s Oktoberfest, taking place on September 20 and 21.
Made in accordance with Reinheitsgebot, the German beer purity law, Manchester Rein comprises classic German yeast and Munich malt, providing the base for an authentic bier halle flavour, but with English hops and Manchester water are then added. There is a peachy nose and a nutty body, topped off with a creamy finish.
An Albert Schloss spokesperson said: ”Manchester Rein was a perfect addition to an already exquisite selection of biers at Albert Schloss. Manchester was in need of its very own pilsner, and here at Schloss we’ve successfully been able to create one.”
