Lymestone Brewery’s two pubs have won gold and bronze in the pub of the year category at the 2019 Enjoy Staffordshire Tourism and Good Food Awards.
The Borehole, in Stone, came out on top, with the brewery’s pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme, The Lymestone Vaults, claiming the bronze award.
And it was a clean sweep of sorts for the Staffordshire brewery — the silver award winner, Eccleshall’s Little George, features Lymestone’s award-winning ales as its house beers.
Lymestone head brewer, and co-founder, Ian Bradford (pictured), said: “I was delighted to collect the awards, but it’s a team effort that made it possible, so I’d like to say a big thank you to all our staff at The Borehole, The Lymestone Vaults, and the brewery. We’re immensely proud of our pubs, so it’s wonderful that they’ve been recognised in this way.”
The Enjoy Staffordshire awards cap another successful year for the brewery. The Borehole was named pub of the year by the Heart of Staffordshire CAMRA group recently, and two Lymestone beers scooped regional gold medals at the 2019 SIBA Independent Beer Awards.
