The London Fields Brewery bursary scheme, which launched to support artists pushing the boundaries of established practice, has announced this year’s bursary winner.
Nadeem Din-Gabisi (pictured) will undertake a year-long residency with a semi-private studio space at Somerset House Studios, receive a £2,000 artist fee and mentoring from the Somerset House Studios community to develop his practices and projects.
This year’s selection was made by a panel comprised of resident artists Nabihah Iqbal and Alexandrina Hemsley (Project O), alongside Somerset House Studios’ programme producer, Leonara Manyangadze, and a London Fields Brewery representative.
Nadeem is an artist, writer, painter, poet, musician and film maker who recently completed a masters in fine art at Chelsea College of Art, and previously attended Wimbledon College of Art, where he completed his BA in fine art, print and time based media.
During his residency at Somerset House, Nadeem will be working on a multimedia project called POOL, which examines a childhood marked by life-changing moments of trauma and happiness.
