Brew day for Jon’s Blonde at the Half Moon Brewery

Jon’s Blonde, from Half Moon Brewery, in Yorkshire, which is raising funds for brain tumour research, has been launched at Walmgate Ale House, York.

The beer is named in honour of the Walmgate’s assistant manager, Jon Moss, who developed the cancer.

Brewery owner Jackie Rogers said: “There has been an amazing response to Jon’s Blonde ale. We have been overwhelmed by the support of publicans, both locally and from much further afield, who either know Jon or have been affected by this illness.”

Following last night’s launch, the beer can also be found in The Swan, Three Legged Mare, Yorkshire Terrier, the Last Drop, the Priory, the Ackorne, Red Lion, and Pipe and Glass, Yorkshire.

Furley & Co in Hull and Chequers in Beverley have selected it as their monthly special, as March is also Brain Tumour Month. The beer is also making appearances in Cirencester and Nottingham.

A minimum of £20 for every cask sold is going to the charity and 40p from every bottle, which will be available from March 14.
