The next Sharp’s Brewery Doom Bar session, set to take place on December 8 will feature popular BBC Radio DJ, Huey Morgan, frontman of the band Fun Lovin’ Criminals.
The Jubilee Queen in Padstow will be hosting the fun and funk on the Camel Estuary, transporting music and beer fans from the Padstow harbour, across the Doom Bar sandbank, out into the estuary, before returning back to Padstow against the backdrop of some stunning scenery and epic beats.
This will be the third session from Sharp’s Brewery this year. World class beats and beers were enjoyed in August with DJ Norman Jay MBE. In September, around 100 lucky people, including local competition winners, got the opportunity to experience a rare musical treat with rock band Feeder playing an intimate-feel acoustic set.
Huey is an American musician best known as the frontman of rock/hip hop band Fun Lovin’ Criminals. He performs both vocals and guitar, and combines rock, hip hop, jazz, reggae, and funk influences in his music. He also performs as a BBC Radio DJ, and has made film and TV appearances.
‘Awesome music acts’
Sharp’s Brewery’s senior brand manager, James Nicholls, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing such awesome music acts to North Cornwall as part of our Doom Bar Sessions, and we have had some amazing sessions this year, including Feeder and Norman Jay MBE. We are all equally excited about Huey Morgan’s session.
“With these unique and intimate gigs out on the water, we want to give people a chance to relax and enjoy some quality tunes while taking in the amazing coastline and enjoying a beer.
“Our flagship beer is named after the Doom Bar sandbank, which lies underneath the Camel Estuary, a short distance from the brewery in Rock. We have created the Doom Bar Sessions to honour this natural wonder and showcase how amazing this part of Cornwall we call home is, so grab your tickets and we’ll see you on board!”
• Tickets for the Doom Bar Sessions are priced at £25 per person (plus a booking fee) and will be available from seetickets.com/ event/huey-morgan/jubilee-queen/1248739
