Hogs Back Brewery, near Farnham, is ramping up production and home delivery of its beers, including seasonal favourites Mistletoe and Swine and Advent Ale.

Managing director, Rupert Thompson, said: “As Surrey moves into tier 2 restrictions, it’s clear that the traditional pre-Christmas pub visit with groups of friends or extended families is off the table. So we’re doing all we can to bring a drop of festive cheer to people’s homes, enabling them to raise a festive toast with their loved ones, whether in person, or virtually if needs be.

“We’re busily brewing our favourites, like TEA and Hog IPA, and seasonal ales like Mistletoe and Swine, scheduling longer hours for our drive through at the brewery and increasing our home deliveries

“Coronavirus may be forcing us to celebrate Christmas at home this year, but we’re confident that many drinkers across Surrey will still be keen to make local beer part of their celebrations. And, for those missing their pub pint, our draught, brewery fresh beers are the next best thing!”

Although the brewery shop remains closed, Hogs Back has converted its spacious Kiln Bar into a ‘browsing shop’, primarily for customers wanting to see gift packs before purchasing. It is also setting up new beer collection points locally to manage festive demand, with The Pavilion at Guildford Cricket Club offering this service on Thursday evenings. Other local sites will follow shortly.
