London’s Hackney Brewery and New York’s Barrier Brewing are teaming up for a UK tap takeover tour, which will run from October 29 until November 2.

Hackney Barrier tap takeoversThe tour will be kicking off in Liverpool, then moving on to Manchester, Leeds, London and ending in Bristol.

It will see the launch of a special collaboration between both breweries, KRONK!, a double IPA at 8% ABV, with bold, punchy American flavours. The beer was brewed at Barrier’s brewery in Oceanside, New York. Both breweries will also be showcasing other beers from their ranges.

Jon Swain, one of Hackney’s founders, said: “This was a relationship sparked by both of us brewing beers named Kapow!.” Hackney’s version of Kapow! is a juicy pale ale, while Barrier’s take is a zesty IPA.

“We have always considered collaborations as a chance to learn, from a hands-on point of view, new techniques and ways to be able to make the best beer we possibly can.”
