Community platform Grapevine Local has launched a customised noticeboard specifically promoting hospitality venues that are offering take-away and deliveries during the pandemic.

“Hospitality remains at the heart of our communities and many pubs, bars, and restaurants are offering take-away and delivery services to support their community, even though their premises remain closed for in-house trade,” said Alan Greaney, founder of Grapevine Local.

“In turn, Grapevine Local wants to support them and has created this customised noticeboard to help publicise their menu, operating times, order and collection processes.

“Business owners simply register their venue and complete the profile information and their details are instantly available to view — it’s simple and free to use.”

The noticeboard also gives customers the opportunity to recommend a take-away or delivery service if it isn’t already listed, and encourage the business owner to reach more patrons who are looking for a great experience while supporting a local business.

Reconnecting with customers

Neil Griffiths, non-executive director of The City Pub Group, said: “Covid has really shown us the need to bring communities together and think local. Individual community pubs and restaurants have a great opportunity to capitalise on the increasing number of people who are staying local, either because of travel restrictions or because they are working from home.

“So many people are missing their favourite pubs and restaurants, and operators have a rare opportunity to reposition their business and prepare for when they can re-open and be more supportive of other services for local customers.

“It is essential for hospitality operators to act now to develop new ways of reconnecting with their existing customers and letting new customers know about the changes. The Grapevine Local take-away and delivery noticeboard is a helpful addition to their marketing and promotional plans and can make a real difference to trade.”
