Exe Valley Brewery has handed over £1,801 to the Blue Cross charity, proceeds from the brewery’s annual beer day staged last month.

The event included tours of the brewery, music, a barbecue, raffle and, of course beer, but what is different is that Guy Sheppard, the brewery owner, and James Fryer, the head brewer, allowed drinkers to help themselves to the beer, with people putting what they feel appropriate into donation buckets which was passed on the charity.

Guy said: “We love allowing our local community, and some from further beyond, into the brewery to see what we do. And we are indebted to others who come and help us with cooking and serving the barbecue, running a raffle, playing for us, and plenty more, and to the local businesses who supported us by donating some of the food and raffle prizes.”

James and Guy made a special delivery of a cask to The Blue Cross at the
Tiverton Rehoming Centre (pictured), along with the money raised from the Beer Day.
