Specialist drinks importer Euroboozer has boosted its portfolio by signing an exclusive deal to distribute Denmark’s To Øl brand in the UK.

Touching down on October 21, the initial To Øl Classics range, being made available in keg and packaged formats, includes: Tropical Rumble, a session IPA; Session Raid, an India pale lager; Gose to Hollywood, a gose with oranges; Reparationsbajer, a gluten-free American pale ale; and Under the Radar, a low-alcohol Farmhouse Ale.

The Classics range will be enhanced with periodic pre-orders, giving trade customers and consumers access to more of the eclectic To Øl range. The first pre-order period will be released on October 21.

To Øl, which translates as ‘two beers’, was initially a student brewing project, back in 2005, after Tore Gynther and Tobias Emil Jensen had a discussion on the merits (or lack of) big brewers with their college teacher, a certain Mikkel Borg Bjergsø. Mikkel famously went on to set up Mikkeller and the students soon followed in his footsteps, founding To Øl in 2010.

The brand quickly became one of the planet’s most renowned nomadic breweries, contract brewing more than 200 different, pioneering beers that are now available in Michelin star restaurants, craft beer bars, pubs and shops in over 45 countries around the world.

‘To Øl have been smashing it since they first arrived on the scene so it’s a massive privilege to help them launch in the UK’

First entering Ratebeer’s top 100 brewery list in 2012, To Øl has been there ever since and was voted the world’s ninth best brewery in 2015, out of 19,000. The company launched its BRUS brewpub in Copenhagen in 2017, now accommodating 13 fermentation tanks and three bright beer tanks.

Euroboozer managing director, Martyn Railton, said: “To Øl have been smashing it since they first arrived on the scene, so it’s a massive privilege to be chosen to help them launch and grow the brand in the UK.

“They are already hugely respected amongst beer aficionados, so we’re confident it won’t be long before they’re huge players in the UK’s diverse beer market, too. They’ve got some really exciting things in the pipeline and we can’t wait to be a part of them.”

Simon Dehany, from To Øl, added: “We brew a diverse range of craft beers; some potent and provocative, others fresh and floral, where balance is central to everything. Our ambition is to use raw ingredients of the highest quality, never to compromise with taste, and to keep pushing the boundaries of great beer crafting.

“We’re confident the Classics range is a great introduction to our brand in the UK, and we’re excited to be working with Euroboozer to really drive trial, awareness and growth.”
