Sharp's Brewery team

The team at Sharp’s Brewery are celebrating following that Doom Bar has been named People’s Favourite Cask Ale in the Inapub People Choice Awards.

This is the second year running that Doom Bar has won this award. The country’s best-selling cask ale also received the silver placing in the People’s Favourite Craft Ale category.

Inapub’s annual People’s Choice Awards surveys pub-goers to find the favourite drinks across a number of categories, making it easier for licensees to create a top-selling drinks list in their premises.

Sharp’s Brewery has a tally of more than 70 international brewing awards, including gold and bronze medals in the World Beer Awards 2016. Just a few of Sharp’s other accolades recently include eight medals at the 2016 International Beer Challenge, 11 medals at the 2014 International Beer Challenge, best drink for Doom Bar in the Food magazine Readers’ Awards 2017 and a bronze award at the 2014 World Beer Cup for Cornish Pilsner.

Sharp’s beers are now available in more than 7,000 pub trade stockists across the UK and over 4,000 stores across all major off-trade retailers.

Senior brand manager, James Nicholls, said: “We’re always delighted that Doom Bar tops the UK’s cask ale sales figures, however to continually receive the People’s Choice votes and awards means so much to our committed, hard-working team here in Rock, North Cornwall.

“Our flagship beer, Doom Bar, is extremely close to our hearts, and we’re over the moon that it remains the favourite ale of pub-goers right across the country.”
