Northern Monk is hosting its Dark & Wild City beer festival at its Leeds home, The Old Flax Store, this Friday and Saturday.

The weekend will host more than 30 breweries, plus live music and a roster of local food vendors.

The Dark City beer festival is renowned for bringing together breweries from across the world in celebration of the varied styles of dark beer. This year, Northern Monk is changing it up.

As well as showcasing the very best in stouts, porters, and all things dark, its adding a new level and bringing some of the finest wild and sour ales to the Old Flax Store.

Including Northern Monk itself, a total of 34 breweries will be pouring their beer at the grade II listed mill. This is the highest number of breweries that have ever poured at a Northern Monk beer festival. Three festival sessions will be running over the course of the weekend.

Breweries from the UK will comprise: Buxton, Old Chimneys, Siren, North Brew Co, Left Handed Giant, Kirkstall Brewery, Burning Sky, Wander Beyond, Cloudwater, Boundary, Whiplash, Vault City, Yonder Brewing and Blending, Little Earth Project, St Mars of the Desert, Wild Beer Co, Neon Rapter, and Old Chimneys.

From the US, there will be: J Wakefield Brewing, Homes Brewery, Speciation Artisan Ales, Transient Artisan Ales, Ology Brewing Co, Dancing Gnome, and Voodoo Brewing Company.

And from the EU, the festival will welcome: Brasserie BFM, Freigeist Bierkultur, Schneeeule Brauerei, Brasserie Du Mont Saleve, Gueuzerie Tilquin, Brasserie Fantome, Mikkeller, and Lervig.
