After a successful inaugural event in February this year, The Craft Half will be taking place in Lee Valley Regional Park, Enfiled, on September 2.

The Craft Half is the perfect half-marathon for beer lovers — runners will be rewarded with half-pints of craft beer at fuelling stations every two miles. Competitiors can also opt for the less intense 10k option — all the benefits of the Craft Half, but just one lap of the route.

The fun doesn’t stop at the finishing line — charity Street Child will host the ‘Halfter Party’ with all runners and supporters invited into the event village for live music, street food and, of course, more craft beer!

Lucy James, organiser of the Craft Half, said: “We thought the idea of running with beer might be popular and we were right — our February Craft Half on Wimbledon Common sold out! So September’s event at Lee Valley Regional Park will be five times bigger.”

Street Child

Organising beer-related running events is only a small part of what Street Child does, so all participants are asked to commit to fundraising £150 in support of its work to give some of the world’s most vulnerable children the chance to go to school and learn. The £150 is enough to help five children to go to school for a whole year.

Founder and chief executive of Street Child, Tom Dannatt, said: “Street Child has helped to change thousands of lives. The fundraising generated by the Craft Half is a huge opportunity to continue to make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable children around the world.”

Race entry is £25 and participants will receive six half-pints of craft beer around the course (three half-pints for 10k runners), plus a limited edition Craft Half running top, an exclusive commemorative pint glass for crossing the finish line, and access to the Halfter Party.

There’s a 20% discount on race entry for groups of six or more runners, so invite your friends to take part! To sign up visit www.street-child.co.uk/craft-half
