Craft Beer Passports have gone on sale, providing beer lovers with a well-priced way to explore the North East’s eclectic craft beer scene.
Using their passport, a holder can choose one £2 craft beer, from a list of three, at 20 participating locations across the North East, between June 1 and December 31. Craft Beer Passports are available for purchase online and at selected locations (from June 1) at £20 each.
The Craft Beer Passport offers folk in Newcastle and along the coast a great deal on local beer as well as a comprehensive ‘field guide’ to the area’s craft beer scene.
The Passport inspires holders to explore Newcastle and the coast while helping to support independent bars and craft beer brewers. It fits snugly into a wallet.
Craft Beer Passport started in Toronto, Canada, in 2014, and has grown and developed over the years into a mobile app that can be used to seek out craft beer locations across the province of Ontario.
Business owner Nix Prabhu said: “I’ve seen the success of the Passport as a way to support local bars. It’s a great way for people to discover the many different neighborhoods in Newcastle and along the coast through their favourite pastime: drinking craft beer.”
An official launch party for the Craft Beer Passport UK will take place on the evening of Friday, May 31, at Anarchy Brew Co, and will include samples from a number of local craft breweries, food by Rib & Rub BBQ, several chances to win craft beer-related raffle prizes, and, of course, Craft Beer Passports on sale.
