Dartington cider

The Shops at Dartington is unveiling a new look for its own-labelled cider range, made with locally grown Devon apples. The clean, fresher look reflects the premium position of the cider, which is hand pressed using apples from ancient organic orchards.

The range has been produced in collaboration with award-winning Ashridge Cider, which grows up to 15 varieties of bittersweet and bittersharp cider apples in Staverton, near Totnes. The cider will be available to sample during The Shops at Dartington’s Christmas Fair on December 16 and 17.

Apples are intrinsically linked to The Shops at Dartington, as part of the site is within an old apple barn. From the 1930s until the 1950s, the local apple harvest was brought in and stored within the old brick building, before being pressed and made into cider. Although cider is no longer pressed on site now, the traditional cider press still stands outside Tog 24.
