Camerons Brewery is opening its latest bar concept, Sanctuary, in Scarborough, from 5pm today with food and drink samples, and live acoustic music in the bar from X Factor semi-finalist, Brad Swainston.

The bar, in the centre of Scarborough on St Nicholas Street, was formerly known as the Blue Lounge, and has been extensively refurbished during the past month. Camerons has invested more than £300,000 into the redevelopment of the site.

Sanctuary opens with an eclectic range of lagers, beers and ciders, and includes four cask ales as well as two rotating craft keg beer lines. In addition, the venue offers an extensive range of premium wines and spirits, plus a new cocktail menu developed by Camerons’ own mixologist.

Sanctuary will serve food daily between 11am and 9pm, with the menu including a great range of classic pub dishes, as well as international cuisine.

New concept

There is free live acoustic music in the bar every Friday from 6pm to 8pm, plus DJs on weekends. Sanctuary also features a separate function area upstairs to cater for special events, business meetings, and cocktail masterclasses.

Jim Bentley, retail managed house director for Camerons Brewery, said “We’ve been so pleased to be investing in a new concept for our Scarborough venue. The Blue Lounge was a key venue in our pub group, but we felt the time was right to revamp the look and offer at the site.

“Sanctuary now offers customers a great food and drinks range, with dog friendly daytimes, and will now transform into a late night bar every evening, serving a selection of signature cocktails as well as premium beers, wines and spirits.”
