Brewhouse & Kitchen Bournemouth

Brewhouse & Kitchen has scooped two titles at the 2018 Publican Awards, being named best pub employer and best managed pub, despite being newcomer entrants.

The company has 19 sites nationwide — 15 of which have opened in the past two years — 400 employees across the British Isles, and consistent profit-led growth.

Its Brewing Academy — the experiential arm of the business — further reflects the business’s success with 8,000 brewery experience days and 18,000 beer masterclasses undertaken to date.

Along with this, Brewhouse & Kitchen is leading the formalisation of the first level 4 brewing apprenticeship in the UK, set to recalibrate a professional infrastructure that currently does not progress beyond level 2.

Brewhouse & Kitchen co-founder and chief executive, Kris Grumbell, said: “Winning these awards is a massive testament to our incredible team and our amazing brewpubs. To get recognition not only as best pub company, but more specifically best employer, recognises our commitment to training and developing our team.”

Founded in 2011 by Kris, and Simon Bunn, the entrepreneurs saw an opportunity to acquire disused and derelict pubs in need of work, and transform them into bustling community hubs that leverage the skills and expertise behind their brews.

Across the group, in excess of 300 beers are brewed on-site, with brews unique to each location. The craft beer innovators present a real-estate portfolio of stunning sites, now collectively forming the largest brewpub chain in the UK and second largest in Europe.
