BrewDog has officially opened OverWorks, its sour and wild beer facility at its Ellon, Aberdeenshire, home.

Led by Richard Kilcullen, a specialist team has been creating beers for what the brewer is calling its “temple to the arts of alternative fermentation”.

A spokesperson said: “For years we have wanted to do sour and wild ales justice (and you guys have been shouting for us to do so), but we have always maintained that to fully do that, you need a bespoke facility to bring the flavour characteristics to life.

“It has taken us a while, but all aspects of the OverWorks are now in place and these amazing styles are ready to be discovered.”
