Within six months of the launch of its first three no- / low-alcohol craft beers, newcomer Braxzz has added three new variants to its range.

Braxzz TripelThere is now a low-alcohol Tripel (0.2% ABV), as well as no-alcohol Barrelled Bock and Oaked Cider.

Having already produced the world’s first alcohol-free porter, Braxzz has achieved another world premiere with the Tripel.

The brewery’s James Leary said: “Many parts of the world are ready for no- /low-alcohol crafts, and that is why we immediately focused on extending our range.

“Our Dutch customer base asked if it was possible to make a Tripel as it is a popular beer category in the Netherlands, so we took the challenge on.”

A tripel is a gold blonde beer with a complex taste profile and an alcohol percentage typically in the range of 7.5% to 9.5%.

James said: “To keep the typical tripel taste profile without the alcohol was a huge challenge, but we are extremely pleased with the result.”

In addition, the brewer has launched its first more seasonal product, a Barrelled Bock. Braxzz co-owner, Cinte Welsing-Swinkels, said: “It is always a special moment when the bockbeer season starts. At the beginning of the autumn, everyone gets ready to huddle around the open fireplace together with a nice bock beer.

“No- / low-alcohol choices are not available to consumers. That is why we made the Barrelled Bock, without any alcohol. Bock beer lovers around the world now have the choice to enjoy the season without alcohol.”

The term ‘barrelled’ has a double meaning for the brewer. On the one hand it refers to the bourbon and wood notes that are found in the product, but on the other hand, it also has a little twist for the founders. Big on surfing, a barrel is a wave that wraps around you and can wipe you of your feet.

Braxzz has also developed an Oaked Cider; a fresh sparkling cider with soft notes of oak wood inside. James said: “Our customers in the UK and Nordics asked us to make an amazing no- /low-alcohol cider product, as it is a popular beverage with their consumers, but the available options without alcohol are not.”
