ITV is reporting that consultations on redundancies are taking place at Brains Brewery as the company seeks a buyer.
It is thought that 80 jobs are at risk at the brewery, which has been producing beer in Cardiff since 1882.
Just before Christmas it was announced that Marston’s is to operate Brains’ portfolio of 156 pubs in Wales, on a combination of leased and management contract arrangements.
In a statement, Brains told ITV News: “Decisions will be made at the end of this [consultation] process, which will be the end of January. The Brains brand will continue to live on through both the pubs and the beer.”
