Wiltshire’s Box Steam Brewery is ending the year on a high, securing a second contract with Lidl International that will see its beer exported to seven European countries.

Box Steam Derail AleBox Steam secured its first deal in the spring of this year and the new deal is seen as testament to the brewery’s ability to deliver to very specific customer requirements in an agile and professional manner. The two award-winning beers will be enjoyed in places including Germany, Spain and the Canary Islands.

An intensely hoppy IPA, Derail Ale is brewed at 5.2% ABV and has refreshing grapefruit notes, a dry finish with a spicy citrus aroma. It has a loyal following and recently took gold in the Taste of the West Awards and silver at the Global Beer Masters 2017.

A beautifully crafted vanilla porter, Funnel Blower (4.5% ABV) has a slight bitterness from roasted barley and chocolate malts, with vanilla overtones.

Box Steam managing director, Andy Roberts, said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be ending 2017 with solid orders on the books and a Lidl International deal for 2018. It’s testament to our high-quality service and great tasting beer. We are delighted it is getting a cult following in Europe.”

Box Steam Brewery has been supplying Derail Ale and Funnel Blower to Lidl for over two years, supplying the beers to stores in the South West of England.
