Within three weeks of launching its new brewery and canning line, award-winning independent craft brewery Big Smoke Brew Co has secured its first on-trade restaurant deal with Indian restaurant group, Dishoom.

Cold Spark Lactose Pale, one of the brewery’s core beers, is now being served in cans at all seven Dishoom sites across the UK.

James Morgan, co-founder of Big Smoke Brew Co, saids: “Having our beer served at all seven Dishoom cafés is a huge achievement for us. Cold Spark is a light sessionable beer with a creamy mouthfeel, making it the perfect accompaniment to Dishoom’s menu of Bombay comfort food.

“We have every confidence it will go down well with diners, and look forward to getting our beers into the hands of more people.”

Dishoom has five venues in London: Shoreditch, Covent Garden, King’s Cross, Carnaby and Kensington, as well as locations in Edinburgh and Manchester.

Founded in 2014 by James Morgan and Richard Craig, Big Smoke Brew Co initially operated out of a micro-brewhouse at The Antelope pub in Surbiton, and has recently relocated to new 5,000 sq ft. premises in Esher.

The new purpose-built Gravity Systems brewery comes with a state-of-the-art, high-speed canning line and six 65-hectolitre fermenters, brewing four times the quantity of beer, which equates to around 6,000 pints per brew.
