Mikkeller

American Dream (4.7% ABV, can)
Deep hasy gold with a thick, slightly off-white head that stays well, this has clean, fresh, grassy, slightly citrusy hop notes on the aroma. On the palate, there are fresh hop notes — citrus, more orange than lemon — and a good bready malt backbone. It’s beauifully balanced and the body is excellent and really smooth. It bills itself as an India pale lager, and it’s a style I could get to like a lot.

Drink’in the Sun (0.3% ABV, can)
At the time of writing, this is the most impressive alcohol-free beer I’ve tasted so far (any beer under 0.5% ABV can legally be termed alcohol free). It’s bright, clear golden, with a white head that disappears fairly quickly. On the nose, there’s orange zest and light malt. For an alcohol-free beer, the taste is not bad at all. There’s a decent body and a rich, cereally malt base, with flavours of orange, and a hint of banana and spisiness.

Mikkeller Drinkin the sun

Side Eyes (4.6% ABV, can)
Hazy gold with a foaming white head, this has a big hop hit on the nose — piney, slightly herbal, some citrus pith. It’s juicy on the palate, lemon, grapefruit, with a little tartness on the finish. Not a huge malt note, but what there is is cereally. Oats have contributed to that, along with a smooth body and good head retention. A lovely beer.
