Sales and marketing director, Danny Hoskins, presenting beer to the crew at the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

Sussex-based Bedlam Brewery has thanked its community and NHS workers in particular for the support shown during the coronavirus pandemic.

Community is at the heart of everything Bedlam Brewery does, and the team have a passion for hospitality. They’ve been so overwhelmed by the support shown to them during the current situation, and to the hospitality industry as a whole, that they wanted to show their support to the community too.

Sales and marketing director, Danny Hoskins, visited the crew at the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and presented them with a few cases of beer to share among their team. From the number of ambulance crew who suddenly appeared to help carry the cases (within a safe distance, of course), Danny knew they certainly appreciated it!

“Without the support from our beer lovers, this would not have been possible,” he said. “We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past few weeks.”

New website

The brewery launched its new website just days before lockdown, which allowed it to get beer to customers’ doors via its home delivery service. The beer is going down a storm nationwide, and includes cans and bottles, and an offering of ever-changing brewery-fresh beer, available in five-litre mini-kegs.

The team value working with the local community, and support local producers like Albourne Estate Wine and Ditchling Gin, whose products they now stock in their online shop.

Bedlam is especially proud of its eco credentials, breing using solar power on a farm just outside Brighton, in the heart of the South Downs. It donates all its spent grain to the farm to feed cattle, and composts used hops.

Beers are delivered around mainland UK andthere’s free home delivery within Sussex with a spend of £60 or more, and free delivery to local villages Hassocks, Hurstpierpoint, Burgess Hill, Ditchling, Plumpton, and Wivelsfield Green.
