Armchair Beer Festival

Somerset-based Epic Beers is curating an event for our times — the Armchair Beer Festival — on Friday, 8th May.

The company, which is behind the Pitchfork Ales and 3D Beers brands, is sending out fresh cask ale for the festival, with shipping on Wednesday and Thursday, 6th and 7th May. That way, it should be in tip-top condition for the Friday.

There’s a beer list from which drinkers can select two-pint cotainers. The range is big, from traditional session bitters, like perennial favourite Pitchfork, to old big hitters, like Santa Fe dark ruby ale (7.3% ABV). There’s even a bourbon barrel-aged versio of the Santa Fe, coming in at 8.1%!

During the checkout process, visitors will create an account allowing them to log back into the site. This is so that if the brewer needs to publish some information only accessible by the festival ‘attendees, this can be kept secure. Twenty pence from every pint sold will be donated to the NHS.

Epic Beers’ Dave Turner told Beer Today: “We’ve devised a suitable way of shipping freshly-tapped cask ale via courier across the country, so we’re offering a proper beer festival with a live stream of three live music acts on the night.

“Initial feedback has been positive, and we’ve already got orders from across Somerset, but also Bristol, Essex, Oxfordshire, and Nottinghamshire too — it’s super exciting!”
