The Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (ALMR) has welcomed St Austell Brewery, Lancaster Brewery and the independent Arnos Arms in London into its membership. They join a host of other high-profile recent additions to the ALMR.
The organisation’s chief executive, Kate Nicholls (pictured), said: “The addition of St Austell and Lancaster breweries and the Arnos Arms to the ALMR’s membership helps cement our reputation as the unrivalled voice for UK pub operators.
“We are looking forward to working with them to help promote this valuable, iconic part of UK culture and ensuring that pubs remain an important part of our high streets.
“This means we now represent over 90% of the UK’s managed pubs, cementing our unrivalled position as the voice of the operator. The hospitality sector is evolving and the ALMR along with it, but our focus remains supporting those fantastic businesses working at the sharp-end of hospitality, and our support for pubs has never been stronger.
“Our pub members are going to be more vital than ever as we evolve into UKHospitality. These members, that formed the backbone of the ALMR when it was founded 26 years ago, will play an integral role in the new association.”
Fantastic sector
Dan Fox, owner of the Arnos Arms added: “This is a great time to be joining and I am excited about adding my voice to the ALMR’s to help support our fantastic sector. This is a very exciting time to be a member and it should only become more interesting as the ALMR evolves to represent the wider hospitality sector.
“The ALMR’s support of the pub sector, particularly smaller companies, and its enhanced membership services are indispensable, particularly within this complicated legislative environment.”
Matthew Jackson, managing director at Lancaster Brewery, added: “Everyone at Lancaster Brewery is excited about becoming members of the ALMR at this exciting time for the association, and for the UK’s pubs. We are looking forward to working closely with them to help support our pubs and champion pubs all around the UK.”
Other recent additions to the ALMR’s membership include Marston’s, Mighty Local Pubs, The Woodman, Urban Pubs and Bars, and Windmill Taverns.
