A beer festival which last year raised more than £3,000 for amateur Aireborough RUFC is returning to fund further developments of the club’s facilities.

Taking place on February 7 and 8 at Aireborough RUFC Yeadon, the festival — held in co-operation with Coopers Guiseley — will feature more than 20 real ales and ciders, and a wide selection of gin.

Organised to coincide with the Six Nations rugby, the festival will give attendees the chance to watch important games.

Plus, Aireborough 1st XV will welcome Harrogate Pythons on the Saturday for a Yorkshire 3 game, with an earlier-than-normal kick-off of 12.30 pm.

Festival organiser, Rob Rattray, said: “Aireborough RUFC has always been a community club with a thriving junior section, and we always look forward to welcoming new people.

“The beer festival not only provides the chance for new people to join us and celebrate great rugby with great beer, but it also unites the community and raises vital funds for the club.”

Doors to the beer festival will open at 6pm on Friday, February 7,and close at 11pm, before re-opening at 1pm the next day and ending at 11pm.

Entry will be £5 per person, which includes a glass, two beer tokens, and a programme, with additional tokens available at five for £5. Each £1 token can be used to purchase half a pint of ale or cider, but for those who fancy a little more, pints can be purchased with two tokens, as can gin.
