There are still tickets available for some sessions of the Bristol Beer and Cider Festival, which begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday.
There will be more than 70 different real ales on sale over the course of the festival, as well as nearly 30 ciders and perries, and some real apple juice. The drinks lists are available to view here.
“Tickets have sold out in advance for three of the sessions, but there are still some tickets left for the others,” said Bristol CAMRA branch chair, Richard Brooks.
“We have ordered plenty of beer, so whichever session people attend there will be a good range available. It would be nice to see a few more people join us on Sunday afternoon, as that seems to be a particularly relaxed and chilled out session. People who filled in our customer feedback form last year indicated that Sunday afternoon was their favourite session.
“Our beer festival has always stocked cider and perry alongside the beer, and we thought that it was time for the name of the event to reflect this. So this year we have renamed it from the Bristol Beer Festival to the Bristol Beer and Cider Festival.”
He added: “This year will be our 25th branch festival since we started them back in 1997 and we continue to tweak the range of beers to offer a good selection of styles from our local breweries and those further afield.
“We do have some advantages over commercially-run beer festivals. Not only do we offer customers better value for money, but they get the great experience of being served by a fellow enthusiast who has volunteered to be there. Following last year’s festival we invited customers to complete a survey and in the feedback received there was much praise for the sociable atmosphere and our friendly, helpful staff.
“Tickets for all sessions include £5 worth of beer festival tokens, which customers will receive on entry enabling them to go straight to the bar. Also included are a festival programme and commemorative glass.”
