There’s a new tap takeover coming to Tate Modern next week as Tate Eats collaborates with Tate Coffee and Drop Project.

Tate Drop Project Grounded

Tate Coffee has used one of its most popular ranges, Juliana Guevara from Colombia, and worked with the brewers at Drop Project to create a mild beer. There will be an opportunity to try the beer and meet the brewers on Thursday, 24th November.

Drop Project has worked with Tate Eats on numerous adventures in beer, including Haze, an Kusama-inspired New England IPA, then All of Us pale ale, a three-way collaboration with Tate and Queer Brewing.

Drop Project was co-founded by three adventure enthusiasts who conveniently all have a passion for beer, its craft, engineering, and taste. They use modern technology to create fresh and intriguing flavours.

The mild, called Grounded, uses hops sourced from Larkin’s Brewery, a farm in Chiddingstone run by a close-knit family team, who have had a hand in growing hops since Tudor times. Every September, Larkins welcome back local volunteers from nearby villages to help with the hop picking and to relive a tradition from their childhood.

This launch follows the recent beer launch of Victoire, created by Tate Eats and Burning Sky brewery in celebration of the Cezanne exhibition at Tate Modern, which has earned high praise from critics. The beer has been well received and is now available to buy in the restaurant and bar spaces and via the Tate Shop.
