Verdant Brewing Co has unveiled its Taproom summer set-up, featuring a foodtruck in the yard from Situ Café.

The taproom has been open for a few months now. As well as being home to 16 lines of keg beers, plus four brews from Handpumps, it hosts talks, sports, exhibitions, DJs, and community meetings.

Verdant and Situ share a passion for collaboration, flavours, and pushing boundaries. “this partnership represents an exciting and contemporary approach to summer food and drinks here in Penryn,” says the brewer.

Cooking out of an old German ambulance, Situ serves up ‘heritage food and fusion flavours’. Its signature style derives from a migration route from Gujarat, in India, to Uganda, before arriving in the UK in 1970s.

Drawing upon family recipes and traditional techniques, owner and chef Sham Mulji cooks with passion to bring an array of dishes into the modern day. Layered flavours from India with African ingredients and british fusions. It’s a perfect combination with Verdant’s hop-forward beers.

A small menu with authentic snacks, hot dishes, and sides, is currently served Thursday (5pm-9pm), Friday, and Saturday (noon-9pm), with more to come as summer nears.

The collaboration doesn’t stop there. Verdant’s on-site pizza chef, Rylie, has worked with Sham to give a taste of what Situ has to offer on one of Verdant’s Neapolitan style pizzas.
