BrewDog is hoping to move on from allegations of toxic workplace culture by publishing a ‘people blueprint’ for its future.

BrewDog Blueprint

Co-founder James Watt is sharing 5% of his shareholding — worth almost £100m — with members of the BrewDog team. Over four years and based on current headcount and valuation, the shares each employee receives are worth around £120,000.

BrewDog Bars now share 50% of their profits with the people who work in them. By doing this, BrewDog says it is “setting the bar higher for hospitality workers everywhere, and democratising the benefits of working for a successful business in our industry”.

The company is also launching:

  • The BrewDog Transparency Dashboard, where the brewery shares information on its employer score, carbon footprint, headcount, tree planting initiatives, and which new and special beers are in the tanks.
  • The BrewDog Alumni Club, a programme to celebrate and honour former employees.
