In celebration of Cask Ale Week, T&R Theakston is bringing together leading figures from the beer and hospitality sectors through a light-hearted panel discussion.

Theakston craft cask

Cask Meets Craft will be held on Friday, 1st October, at 6pm virtually, and will be compered by Morning Advertiser editor, Ed Bedington. The interactive panel will explore what the camps of cask ale and modern craft beer can learn from one another.

Free to attend, the event is aimed at those working within the on- and off-trade, as well as passionate cask and modern craft beer fans.

Sitting on the panel, alongside Simon Theakston, joint managing director of Theakston Brewery, will be: Cat Fergusson, editor of The OnTrade Preview; Greg Hobbs, co-founder and head brewer at Five Points Brewing; and Chris Jowsey, chief executive of Admiral Taverns.

Panellists wil be invited to share anecdotes from their experience working within the industry, as well as their predictions for how these categories will continue to evolve.

Attendees can submit their questions for the panel until Friday, 24th September, by tweeting @Theakston1827, or messaging Theakston on Facebook or Instagram.

Simon Theakston said: “We’ve always said that we consider ourselves to be the original craft brewer, so what better way to celebrate that heritage than by gathering some of the beer and hospitality industries’ most influential figures to discuss how, in many respects, cask ale and modern craft beer are very compatible with one another and to see what each can learn from the other.

“We’d encourage anyone who is passionate about beer and brewing to celebrate Cask Ale Week with us by signing up and submitting their questions ahead of what we’re sure will be a very fruitful, fun, and interesting discussion.”
