The Campaign for Real Ale’s Great British Beer Festival at Your Local kicks off this weekend, with events nationwide.

GBBF at Your Local

Events run from today to Sunday, 8th August, with some taking place later in the month, too. These include mini beer festivals, meet the brewer sessions, tastings, quizzes, and more.

A spokesperson said: “We hope you will support this great initiative and join an event taking place near you. Or, alternatively, just pop down to your local with friends and family!”

What’s on?

In Tyneside, you can choose from an ale, pie, and music festival at The Schooner, Gateshead; a mini beer festival, featuring 11 beers from local breweries at The Boathouse, Wylam; and a tap takeover by Three Kings Beer at The New House, Newcastle.

In and around Kidderminster, enjoy a Wyre Forest Ale Trail (and competition) and a mini beer festival at The Beer Emporium & Cider House, or a real cider promotion at The Lazy Dog in Bristol.

In Port Talbot, The Brit Pub has a tap takeover and mini beer festival, and in Kirkaldy, meet the brewer with Coul Brewing at Betty Nichols, or try a specially brewed Cream Cask Ale at Brewhouse & Kitchen pubs across the UK.

Enjoy a cake and beer tasting at The Snooty Fox in London N5, a mini beer festival at the Billericay Brewing Micropub or South Byfleet Social Club, or a meet the brewer session at The Goat & Tricycle in Bournemouth.
