Rebel Brewing Co, in Penryn, Cornwall, has announced that it has gone into administration.
Founder Rob Lowe broke the news on Facebook today, but said the brewery shop would remain open until the end of December 21, with a 10% discount on stock.
Founded in a small garage unit in Penryn in 2011, the company has enjoyed success with a range of diverse beers, including sessionable Surf Bum IPA and very popular Mexi-Cocoa. It has won champion beer at Falmouth Beer Festival twice with its malty and flavoursome 80 Shillings brew.
Administrators Chris Parkman and Alessandro Sidoli are looking to sell the company as a going concern.
Rob told Facebook followers: “It has been a rollercoaster over the last six years. We’ve had both the best and worst times, but one thing that has always kept us smiling is your support. There are many reasons why this has happened which I won’t go into here, but needless to say life will go on…
“I would love to write more, but I’m a private kind of guy so rest assured that I will carry on brewing amazing, award-winning beers one way or another.”
