Greene King’s like-for-like sales growth rose 3.2% in the ten weeks to September 2, the company reports today, with strong beer sales during England’s World Cup matches.

Greene King logoTotal beer volumes in the company’s Brewing and Brands division were up 4% and own-brewed volumes were up 0.3%.

“We remain on course to dispose of 100- to 110 pubs this year, and expect to open around nine new pubs,” said a spokesperson.

“We continue to focus on profitably driving top line growth, developing a more streamlined and efficient organisation and further strengthening our capital structure to deliver long-term value creation for our shareholders.”
