Anybody who knows me knows that when it comes to my local, the Star Inn, Crowlas, just outside of Penzance, I am ridiculously biased in my high opinion of the venue and the beer. Thankfully, Cornwall CAMRA members think the same and have voted it county pub of the year!

Norman said: “We thank you for your excellent beer and your long-standing support of CAMRA. To which Pete, famously a modest man of few words, replied: “We do what we do!”

Fair enough. There were four Penzance beers on: the ever-popular Potion No 9, Crowlas Bitter, Brisons Bitter and the dangerous Scilly Stout. The pub was also the venue for the afternoon for the local CAMRA tasting panel, presided over by Steve Barber.
