St Austell Brewery hit a hat-trick at the recent national Pub & Bar Awards, with three of its sites picking up best pub in Cornwall, Devon and Bristol respectively.

In Cornwall, the award-winning Port Gaverne Hotel picked up the accolade for the second year running under the guidance of the talented pub team run by David and Jackie Barnard.

In Devon, Trencherman award-winning John Hooker and his team from the Cornish Arms, in Tavistock, took pole position, while The Albion pub, in Bristol, run by the renowned Iconic Bar Company, was named best pub in the city.

St Austell estate director, Adam Luck, said: “These fantastic wins truly reflect the successful partnerships we have built with our tenants, helping them to bring out the best in their businesses.

“While these awards are down to their hard work, St Austell Brewery was voted best pub company for the fifth year running in a recent independent tenant survey, which shows how closely we work with all of our publicans, giving them the support they need to succeed on all levels.”

A total of 94 pubs have been selected as the best in their area and will now have the chance to be named the best in their region.

The awards, organised by Pub & Bar magazine, will see the 94 county winners entered into a grand final at London’s BAFTA theatre on May 24, when 12 regional winners and one overall national pub and bar of the year will be announced
