Tamsyn Hawkins, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the restaurant and retails sectors, has been appointed to St Austell Brewery’s senior management team as people director.

Undertaking various roles, encompassing human resources, operations and talent management, she previously held a similar role at Zizzi Restaurants for more than seven years. As the company’s head of people, Tamsyn was responsible for learning and development, human resources and internal communications.

As part of her new role, she will be responsible for ensuring St Austell Brewery has the best people working to deliver and grow the business. She will also oversee the company’s training and development centre, which provides a range of courses for those interested in a career in the licensed hospitality industry.

Tamsyn said: “I’m thrilled to be starting in my new role at St Austell Brewery. Being from Cornwall, I’m excited to be joining such a successful and diverse West Country organisation. My main focuses will be to develop and attract talented people, and deliver effective training across the board.

“Investing in our people will ensure we are able to grow our business even further and continue to deliver a great service for our customers.”

St Austell chief executive, James Staughton, added: “We are delighted to welcome Tamsyn to St Austell Brewery. In the pub and hospitality sector, people are at the very heart of our business, and so investing in recruitment, training and development is hugely important to us. Tamsyn’s wealth of experience and skills will help ensure St Austell Brewery continues to be a great company to work for.”
