It is a uniquely flavoured red cask ale, lightly hopped with American Galena and Cluster hops, a smooth beer with a soft, fruity finish.
Will Edwards, Wolf’s brewery manager, said: “It is an exceptional achievement to be awarded champion beer of the UK and is further recognition of the standard of our craft ales.
“Sirius Dog Star has won the Eastern region gold award for bottled beer before, and we have improved the recipe of the beer so that it has now been nationally recognised as a cask ale. It is a fitting reward for the excellence and dedication of the team at Wolf Brewery, and a fine accolade for Wolf Brewery.”
The company will now be brewing additional supplies of the beer to accommodate the expected high demand.
Will added: “We hope that the champion beer of the UK will be enjoyed by as many ale drinkers as possible over the coming months. As this is the second time a Wolf Brewery beer has won this prestigious award, it confirms the overall and long-lasting quality of the beers we are producing.”
