Former England and Bath rugby player and renowned TV pundit, David ‘Flats’ Flatman, will entertain guests with his sporting tales and anecdotes at the event for the charity that offers vital assistance to all who work, or who have worked, within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.
Rugby legends, including former England captain and Cornishman Phil Vickery MBE, former England player Jeremy Guscott, Welsh rugby union and Worcester Warriors scrum half Matt Powell and ex-England Rugby lock Nigel Redman, will also be present, as will former England stars Alex Brown, Trevor Woodman and Andy Hazell, plus former England coach Jack Rowell OBE.
Sharp’s will also be welcoming a nominated local club hero from each of the rugby clubs it sponsors to join them for this fundraising event.
Sharp’s is running a competition where you can enter your details via their Facebook page to be in with the chance to win tickets to attend the dinner, with accommodation as a guest of the brewery.
With more Hospitality Action grants being awarded in the South West than anywhere else in the UK, the importance of the charity could not be more relevant.
The evening will include a four-course dinner paired with Sharp’s award winning beers, created by seven award-winning South West chefs: Paul Ainsworth, of Paul Ainsworth at Number 6; Dominic Chapman, of The Beehive; Josh Eggleton, of The Pony and Trap; Jude Kereama, of Kota and Kota Kai; Nathan Outlaw, of Restaurant Nathan Outlaw; Guy Owen, of The Idle Rocks; and Michael Wignall, formerly of Gidleigh Park.
The menu will feature a delicate smoked fish platter, by Nathan Outlaw, and a succulent stuffed saddle of lamb, beer-braised onions, pressed potato, wild garlic and mint sauce, by Josh Eggleton.
The event will be a fantastic opportunity to relax with industry colleagues in the glorious grounds of Deer Park Country House Hotel, enjoy Sharp’s Brewery beers and an exceptional dinner experience, as well as a chance to show collective support for Hospitality Action.
David Flatman said: “I’m super excited to speak at Hospitality Action’s inaugural Rugby Legends dinner. It’s going to be a fantastic night, with amazing food prepared by seven award-winning chefs. If you haven’t already booked your place then crack on — spots are limited and the food is going to be mega!”
Rachel Williams, communications manager at Sharp’s Brewery, added: “We are delighted to sponsor Hospitality Action’s very special rugby dinner. The attendees and chefs participating all fit our mission of exceptional standards, ambition and energy.
“We cannot wait for the big night and to help raise funds for this vital industry charity. We’ve invited each of our sponsored rugby clubs to nominate their own club hero to join us on the night and to experience this awesome event with the Sharp’s team and the nation’s favourite rugby legends.”
