Sharp's gig

Sharp’s Brewery, is celebrating success at the Beer Awards, winning best pale ale for its 6 Vintage Blend. In addition, the Cornish brewer was awarded the 3 star beer accolade for Atlantic, Chalky’s Bite, Honey Spice IPA, Sea Fury and Wolf Rock.

The awards, in their inaugural year, are run by the specialist in drinks competitions, IWSC Group. The group brings more than 47 years’ experience in judging quality alcoholic beverages, with its panel made up of leading brewers, beer sommeliers and beer writers.

The Beer Awards’ medals recognise exceptional products in the rapidly-expanding beer market, designed to influence purchasing decisions both in the on- and off-trade.

James Nicholls, senior brand manager at Sharp’s, said: “We’re delighted that a number of our products have been recognised at the first ever Beer Awards. We’re lucky to have an exceptional team here at Sharp’s, who produce top-quality beer consistently and these accolades reflect the team’s hard work.”

The awards follow Sharp’s success at the recent International Beer Challenge, where the brewer was awarded eight medals across a number of categories.
