Purity Brewing Company is celebrating the seasonal return of its multi award-winning cask beer, Saddle Black, with an exclusive Puritan experience.

Purity is holding a launch event at its tap room in Great Alne, near Alcester, Warwickshire, on Saturday (November 3) between 11am and 3pm.

Purity Saddle BlackTickets (available here) cost £15 and include a pint of the black IPA, along with a beef and Saddle Black pie with chips, from the brewery’s friends at Seven Mile Cookery & Events. Guests will also take home a can of Saddle Black and a Purity-branded executive stem glass.

Purity’s full range of beers will also be available on the bar at its farm-based tap room, while head brewer, Flo Vialan, will be around to talk about Saddle Black and how he and his team craft all of the brewery’s award-winning beers.

Saddle Black is a full-flavoured 5.1% ABV black IPA, inspired by long established Midlands companies Brooks England and Pashley Cycles, and everything on two wheels.

The beer features Chinook and Cascade hops to give a slightly smokey and floral aroma, combining a mix of black pepper, dark fruits, orange and spices. Roasted malts provide a taste of chocolate and espresso, while the use of smoked malt ensures a well-rounded finish for a full-bodied mouthfeel.

Purity managing director, Paul Halsey, said: “We love it when Saddle Black is back in cask. Cycling is such a big part of Purity’s culture, from the discovery of our brewery site to our recent Mad Goose Chase social events, so we’re really looking forward to welcoming our Puritans to the launch event and knowing they can enjoy a fresh pint of our wonderful black IPA in pubs, bars and taprooms across the region and beyond.”
