Real Ale, the London-based specialist craft beer and wine retailer, is to be a kit sponsor of a team of seven cyclists taking part in the 145-mile annual Football to Amsterdam bike ride, in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.  The ride takes place from June 1-3.

One of the team of seven is Graham Goodden, aged 29, a regular customer at Real Ale, Richmond. Graham works as the communities engagement manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Real Ale LtdTwo weeks before the World Cup kicks off, 400 football fans will unite for the sponsored two-day cycle, finishing at Ajax’s Amsterdam Arena. Graham’s team aims to raise £7,000 for the charity. The overall goal is to raise £600,000, which would fund research to revolutionise the way prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated.

Zeph King, managing director of Real Ale, said: “We are really happy to be supporting Graham, not just as one of our regular customers, but also for such a meaningful cause. This event is a fantastic way to help raise awareness of prostate cancer and we wish Graham and the team the best of luck in their fundraising efforts.”

Graham added: “This is now my fourth year taking part in the charity bike ride and this year I’m riding in support of a fellow rider and good friend of mine who lost his farther-in-law to prostate cancer. Taking part in this ride over the last few years I have heard first-hand the great work PCUK do, and the more fundraising and support this great charity can receive the better.

“We are grateful to the team at Real Ale for supporting us, and we look forward to a great beer at the end of the ride.”
