To support the ongoing development of its publicans and their teams, Punch has launched an online training portal, the Punch Progress Console.

The online hub is mobile optimised and will act as a one-stop shop for learning and development for publicans and their pub teams, with each element designed to give them the tools to run a successful, safe and profitable pub business.

The new platform is designed to put publicans in control of all aspects of their training and development. The console is easy to access and can be utilised through a laptop, tablet, PC or smartphone.

Publicans will be able to access online booking and can choose from a variety of Punch training workshops, together with a library of useful toolkits, templates and materials. The platform also includes free Punch eLearning modules.

In addition to the free training console, Punch has partnered with CPL Training Group to offer its publicans a vast portfolio of eLearning modules, covering a range of compliance and soft skills courses and qualifications. Punch publicans will have unlimited access to the whole range of modules for a discounted annual fee of £200 plus VAT. Publicans are able to use the console to track and record all their training activity so that they can easily meet key legislative requirements and manage their staff development.

Helen Willis, learning and development manager at Punch, said: “We have worked really hard to ensure this console is relevant to our publicans. We have been able to tailor the information for different types of pub businesses, giving our publicans a service that works best for them.

“It is also the first time that publicans are able to self-serve all the Punch support available to them, which makes it the most easily accessible and cost-effective training programme in the industry.”
