Woodforde’s chief executive, James Hughes, has completed the draw — now we know which five free trade pubs have won free beer for a year from the brewery,

Hundreds of entries were received for a prize draw, announced on Beer Today at the start of December. the winners are: The Coachmakers Arms, Norwich; Nelson Head, Horsey; The Swan, Lawshall; The Bell Inn, Wendon’s Ambo; and The Hare and Hounds, East Bergholt.

Roy Cole, a licensee for the past 17 years, the last eight running The Coachmakers Arms, a 17th century former coaching inn in Norwich, said: “We always offer a wide range of Woodforde’s beers as they are very popular with our customers, the favourites being Wherry, Reedlighter, and Nelson’s Revenge, all of which we serve on draught. Winning free beer for a year has made my day — thank you, Woodforde’s.”

The five pubs will each receive two firkins of Woodforde’s beer per month for 12 months throughout 2018.

James Hughes said: “This is the first time we have run a ‘free beer’ promotion for our free trade customers and we are delighted with the results. It was a really good way to reward those pubs that promoted our beers over the busy festive season, and our congratulations go to the five lucky winners.

“It’s great to be able to demonstrate how much we appreciate all the hard work and support our free trade customers give Woodforde’s beers.”
